Ashtray American Brilliant Cut Glass Magnificent Quality Large Size Heavy Thick Glass. F ound at a recent Ohio antique show, is this extraordinary seldom seen large heavy unusually thick cut glass ashtray. This excellent quality work of cut glass art appears to have spent more than a century hidden away safe from use or harm. T he large ashtray is made a fine quality heavy and especially thick lead glass blank. The ashtray weighs in at over 5 pounds.

On the outside bottom there are 3 felt "feet" to protect the ashtray's bottom from scratches. T here is one uncommon dominate central motifs emanating from the center of bottom to the outer edges. The motifs are large leaf shapes filled with stars inside of diamonds. S urrounding the outside of the thick ashtray are smaller motifs of diamonds, hobstars, and fans. The motifs are in unusually deep cuts on the sides in the especially thick crystal glass of brilliant clarity. N o doubt the person who cut the motifs with such amazing detail was created by a master cutter. The signature of this treasure remains undiscovered. Hopefully, you will find it. T he unusually large cut glass ashtray is 2 1/2 inches high by 8 inches wide. The ashtray weights slightly over 5 pounds. Condition: T he cut glass ashtray is nearly in perfect condition. On one of top rims on the inside of the ashtray (between the recesses for leaving a burning cigarette) there is one very tiny chip which may come from the factory in this condition. The micro chip is nearly impossible to see. One must run a finger along the inside sharp edge to find it.

Other than one extremely tiny chip the large and small motifs on the bottom and outside upper rim are absent of any wear marks, bruises or scratches. T he item number is: 2002x002.
